Board of the University of Helsinki appointed for the term 2026–2029
In the election held from 25 to 27 November 2025, the staff of the University of Helsinki elected representatives of professors, other teaching and research staff (also known as the mid-tier group) and other staff to the Board of the University for the term from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2029.
In addition, the Student Union of the University of Helsinki has appointed two student members to the Board for a two-year term from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027.
In total, the Board of the University of Helsinki consists of ten members, of whom six represent the University community and four are appointed from outside the community.
The members of the new board are:
- Thomas Hackman
- Hanna Korsberg
- Sanni Lehtinen
- Anne Lepistö
- Minna Palmroth
- Mari Pantsar
- Juha Tuominen
- Antti Vasara
- Aku Houttu (1.1.2026–31.12.2027)
- Teemu Kovanen (1.1.2026–31.12.2027)
The Board elects a chair and a deputy chair from among its external members. The University Collegium will confirm the election of members representing the University community at its meeting to be held on 2 December 2025.
