Intensive period features multiple language and communication courses

Now is the time to plan for the final period of the academic year! Throughout the intensive period, the Language Centre will offer a range of language and communication courses, some optional and others required for degrees, in various languages. 

Explore the full range online and find the course that suits you best. You can register for Language Centre courses and examinations in Sisu. Registration for courses during the intensive period is open from 7 to 27 April 2025. 

Courses offered during the intensive period include:

Academic interaction skills and academic writing skills (Finnish):

Well-being and Interaction (Finnish) (KK-AI004, 2 cr, blended teaching)

English:

Academic and Professional Communication in English 1 & 2, r17 (KK-ENKAIKKI, CEFR B2, 4 cr, contact teaching)

Open University: Academic and Professional Communication in English 1 & 2, group A (KK-ENKAIKKI, CEFR B2, 4 cr, remote teaching)

Open University: Academic and Professional Communication in English 1 & 2, group B (KK-ENKAIKKI, CEFR B2, 4 cr, remote teaching)

Spanish:

Curso de comprensión de textos – Spanish Reading Comprehension (KK-ESP304, CEFR B1, 2 cr, remote teaching) 

Swedish:

During the intensive period, the Language Centre offers several courses in oral and written skills in Swedish as the second national language, required for degrees at several faculties, including courses for soon-to-be graduates from the Faculty of Educational Sciences (KK-RUKASV) and the Faculty of Theology (KK-RUTEOL). Available to other students are the faculty courses KK-RUMALU and KK-RUVALT

 In addition, the following open university studies in oral and written skills in the second national language (CEFR B1, 2 cr) are offered as summer evening classes: KK-RUKASV, KK-RUVALT, KK-RUOIK and KK-RUOIK, which is a SVALMS course (independently completed course in Swedish as the second national language).

German:

Deutsch als Wissenschaftssprache – German as a Scientific Language (KK-SAK314, CEFR B1, 2 cr, contact teaching)

Russian:

Russian for Beginners 1 (KK-VEN002, 4 cr, remote teaching)
