Last call: UNITalent – Networking Programme for Internationals

Are you an international student in a master’s degree programme or an international doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki? Do you want to build professional connections and learn about Finnish working life? Apply now for the HelsinkiUNI International Talent Programme (UNITalent)! HelsinkiUNI International Talent Programme (UNITalent)! The application period is extended until Fri 22.11 or until all the groups have reached their maximum number of applications that will be send to the host organisations. Groups are filled at a first-come, first-served basis. Most groups are already full, and the remaining ones are filling up quickly! 

Programme Dates:

Kick-off: 4.2.2025
Host organisation meetings: 2 - 3 times during February - April
Closing Event: 29.4.2025

UNITalent season 2024-2025 will have 9 groups, of which 3 are still open: 

1. Fiskars Group - The host for those who want to combine data and business
   Is your background in data science and analytics? Are you enthusiastic about using your expertise in a business setting, turning data into practical solutions, that drive business success? If you answered yes, Fiskars Group may be the host for you. 
   
   Themes of the group meetings: Working life in Finland, Data in Business, Recruitment & Personal Branding and HQ tour.
    
2. City of Helsinki, Education - The Education Division serves the learners of Helsinki
   The City of Helsinki wants to develop its diverse services through pedagogic experiments. The City aims to better meet the requirements of a diverse range of learners, families, businesses and society. If you are interested in learning what kind of large working possibilities Helsinki as a city can offer you, this might be a good program for you. This program will be in English, even though Finnish language skills will be required to get a job
   
   Themes of the group meetings: Education and pedagogics and Competencies that are required to work in the field.
    
3. Helsinki Think Company - The entrepreneurship society of the University of Helsinki
   Helsinki Think Company is a group for those who are interested in entrepreneurship and have a passion for changing the world for the better. You don't have to have a business idea in mind or know anything about entrepreneurship, an open mind and willingness to learn about entrepreneurial tools and ecosystem is all you need!
    

These host organization groups have reached the maximum number of applications, but the waiting list is still open: 

1. Otava Learning- a Finnish learning expert producing digital and printed educational materials  
2. OP Financial Group - The leading financial services group in Finland

How to apply

UNITalent is a 3-month networking programme where you connect with Finnish organisations, gain career insights, and expand your network. While it’s not a recruitment or a mentorship programme, it’s a unique chance to understand the job market. 

First, get to know the UNITalent programme in more detail. Then, choose a host organisation and ensure you are eligible to apply. Apply via the registration forms on the UNITalent webpage (each organisation has its own form). If your chosen group is full, join the waiting list—you'll be notified by January 2025 if a spot opens.

Please note: the application to the Group Mentoring Programme is also open. You can apply to either the Group Mentoring Programme or UNITalent, but not both.
