Sisu’s accessibility improves in December – check out the changes starting from Dec 17

Improving accessibility in Sisu is one of the key priorities in its development. On 17 December 2025, accessible views for Structure of studies and Timeline pages will be introduced.

  • The new accessible Timeline view will completely replace the old one.
  • The new accessible Structure of studies view does not need to be adopted immediately – you can continue using the old familiar view for now. You may also try the new view and switch back to the old one if you prefer.

Sisu’s development will continue, and more accessibility improvements are expected later.

What changes in the new view and why?

On the Structure of studies page:

  • The selection assistant moves from the sidebar to the three-dot menu and opens in a pop-up window.
  • Making selections: In the new selection assistant, you make choices using checkboxes and radio buttons. Checkboxes allow multiple selections at once, while radio buttons permit only one choice within a group. These options are more accessible and clearer compared to the old pill buttons.
  • The free edit mode is still available inside the selection assistant behind the three-dot menu but now opens in its own pop-up window.

On the Timeline page:

  • The visual timeline is currently missing, but an accessible alternative is under development.
  • Timing of courses takes place in period-specific pop-up windows using checkboxes that allow multiple selections at once.
