User satisfaction with the Studies Service improved – navigation challenges to be addressed
In 2025, you gave the Studies Service (studies.helsinki.fi) a rating of 3.85/5. User satisfaction increased slightly compared to the previous year (3.73).
During 2025, content in the Studies Service was viewed a total of 12.4 million times. More of you than before (19%) reported using the service daily.
These were your favourite things about the service:
- The clarity and user-friendliness of the service.
- Comprehensive and reliable content: study-related information in one place.
- Useful and up-to-date instructions.
- Clear and helpful course search and course pages.
- The portal-like nature of the service: it works as an everyday starting point also for other services.
These issues caused frustration:
- The structure of the service and difficulties with navigation (especially within the main sections).
- Extensive linking, long link paths, and circular links.
- Difficulty understanding degree and teaching structures: hierarchies, recommended study paths, and schedules.
- Gaps in course information and varying levels of up-to-dateness.
- The large amount of instructional content and its fragmented structure.
Our top development priority for 2026 is addressing the long-standing structural and navigation challenges in the service’s instructions section, which a lot of you have provided feedback on. A development project is about to begin with the aim of making it easier to navigate the instructions section, improving the findability and visibility of instructions related to your own degree programme, and renewing page templates to make them easier to scan.
