The renewed Learning Centre Aleksandria opens on Tuesday 1 July 2025
Aleksandria opens to students after a year-long renovation. The renewal will bring with it more than 300 workstations, new facilities and plenty of group study rooms.

Services for students in the summertime 2025
Many services and buildings at the University are closed or have limited opening hours in the summertime. However, there are also several services to support your studies during the summer.
Four UniCafes will remain open throughout the summer – UniCafe Biokeskus offers local herbs and vegetables starting in August
The UniCafes open all summer are Biokeskus, Chemicum, Kaivopiha and Meilahti.
EduVPN will launch at the University from 3 June 2025 – OpenVPN will be discontinued in the autumn
The new eduVPN connection will be available starting from 3 June 2025. The secure and fast eduVPN service will replace OpenVPN, which will be discontinued at the University.
Changes to Examinarium facilities in the City Centre and in Kumpula
A new exam room opens in Alexandria and the exam room in Physicum closes.

Digital Security at the University Now is a review of topical matters related to information security and digital security at the University. The review is published four times a year.
Collective agreement approved, announced staff strike cancelled
A settlement has been reached on the collective agreement for Finnish universities. The staff strike planned for Tuesday May 27 is cancelled and University functions will continue normally.
